Crawler Piling Rig

In May 2026, multiple STARKE LH85 crawler piling rigs equipped with HHP8 hydraulic impact hammers were deployed on the Moscow–St Petersburg high-speed railway project in Russia, providing efficient and reliable support for foundation construction. Once completed, the railway is expected to reduce travel time between the two cities from approximately seven hours to just 2.5 hours, improving regional connectivity and supporting economic development along the route.

To meet the project’s demanding requirements, including its long construction corridor, large scale and need for continuous operation, STARKE supplied an integrated piling solution combining the LH85 crawler piling rig with the HHP8 hydraulic impact hammer. The equipment is primarily used to drive concrete square piles measuring 0.4 m × 0.4 m and up to 16 m in length. The LH85 offers excellent stability, mobility and adaptability across different site conditions, while the HHP8 delivers consistent impact energy, precise control and high operating efficiency. Working together, the equipment can be adjusted to suit different ground conditions and pile-driving requirements, providing dependable performance for railway bridges and associated foundation works.

This large-scale deployment further demonstrates STARKE’s capabilities in the research, development and manufacturing of integrated piling equipment, as well as its experience in international infrastructure projects. STARKE will continue to advance independent innovation, strengthen its global service network and deliver efficient, reliable foundation solutions for railway, bridge, port, offshore and urban infrastructure projects worldwide.
