Crawler Piling Rig

Seven STARKE LH86 crawler piling rigs, each equipped with an HHP7-9-11 hydraulic impact hammer, have been deployed simultaneously on the Singapore PSA project, providing efficient and reliable support for foundation construction. The equipment is primarily used to drive concrete square piles with cross-sections of 300 mm × 300 mm and lengths of up to 36 m, meeting the project’s requirements for driving accuracy, operating efficiency and continuous performance through coordinated large-scale operations.

The HHP7-9-11 hydraulic impact hammer features an adjustable ram configuration, allowing the same hammer to operate with total ram weights of 7, 9 or 11 tonnes. Starting with a 7-tonne ram, an additional 2-tonne ram can be added to increase the total ram weight to 9 tonnes. Adding another 2-tonne ram increases the total ram weight to 11 tonnes, with the hammer casing lengthened accordingly. This flexibility allows the ram configuration to be selected according to pile type, ground conditions, project-specified ram weight and final set requirements. Under more demanding driving conditions, a heavier ram can provide greater impact capability, helping piles reach the required depth and final set criteria.

The coordinated operation of seven equipment sets demonstrates the capability of STARKE’s integrated piling equipment in large-scale construction and challenging ground conditions. The adjustable ram configuration of the HHP7-9-11 enables a single hammer platform to accommodate different pile types, design specifications and site requirements, giving customers greater flexibility in equipment configuration and a more efficient, targeted approach to pile installation.
